Philly in DC

Thanks to all who came with SUSTAIN, Jewish Voice for Peace, and other Philly groups to protest 40 years of Israeli occupation. The bus sold out and we had to get two more vans at the last minute to accommodate all of Philadelphia's energy!

About 5000 people rallied on the Capitol and marched to the White House, carrying messages that demanded an end to the occupation; protested U.S. support for the occupation through military aid and foreign policy; and mourned not just 40 years of occupation but 59 years of displacement, since the Nakba.

For more on the march, check out the U.S. Campaign to End the Occupation's press release.

Thanks to everyone who came out for SUSTAIN's house party fundraiser on Friday!

Your contributions totaled $555, which will go directly to Needle in the Groove, a music camp in Palestine this summer in which North American women musicians and Palestinian girls will hold a week-long cultural exchange with the theme “Music of Struggle.”

Visit the website to find out more, and stay tuned for updates from SUSTAIN member Alissa Wise, who will bring your donations to Palestine and film the camp this summer.

If you couldn't make it to the party, you can still donate at needleinthegroove.org. Thank you for supporting this amazing project!
